Join Sandra Helmig, High School Learning Support teacher at Inter-Community School, Zürich, as she discusses the crossover between learning support and the admissions process. Sandra has a strong background in implementing systems to help admissions and support services work closely.
During Sandra’s presentation, she will illustrate the importance of admissions working alongside the support services in order to create an inclusive community of diverse learners. She will touch on multiple topics including how to market your school’s inclusive approach, how to communicate what your school can and cannot offer in terms of learning support and the importance of working closely with support services throughout the admissions process.

Sandra has just completed her first year at the Inter-Community School, Zürich- a 3- programme IB school, where she has a dual role as a High School Learning Support teacher as well as leading a project on data management in admissions. Previous to this she worked for six years as the Director of Admissions at NIST International School, Bangkok. Sandra has always had a strong interest in creating systems where admissions has a close working relationship with support services to ensure that the school is creating an inclusive community of diverse learners. Over the past 20 years she has worked in five international schools in Tanzania, China, Thailand and Switzerland and has always in some way been involved in admissions and learning support.
